Can you buy the new google phone sim free?

I am in the UK and have a contract with O2 that is not due to run out until next August and I love the google phone which is being sold on T Mobile. I wanted the iPhone initially but it doesn't do picture messaging which the google phone does.|||i dunna, ring around
